Veil
Veil - A modified version of 'rain' used in earnest at the end of May party, located at the sublime Zu Studios in Lewes uk.
Projected behind the fab band, "Bob Hillary & The Massive Mellow", the interactive zone was aimed at the public audience who were dancing in front. A lot of twiddling required to work within the space, the Kinect sensor was at the limit of its range and I found that the user experience was improved by allowed a greater 'width' of the veil, eg: expanding the depth of user interaction. Also, adding rainbow (predator style!), adding coloured splash and generally enhancing the colours to counter the weak projector above the ambient lighting/effects.
I will be experimenting with dynamic changes of depth/multiple areas of depth interaction so that the veil is not static at one particular depth - this will enhance the experience for more interactors at one time who happen to be nearer or further.
