Interactive Internation Space Station Exhibit.
C++ and OpenGL. Design and implementation of ~£20k exhibit.
Public exhibit which gives the visitor 'challenges' to fly to different parts of the International Space Station. The 3D simulation shows the Space Station flying 193 miles above the planet earth which is shown within an emersive dome display unit.

Big Blip 2005
C++ and OpenGL. Commisioned to create an interactive digital art piece for the Big Blip exhibition 2005. Using motion tracking via a webcam the user can interact with glowing sprites within the reflection of a mirror.

Quality Assurance Engineer

Nucoda, Soho, London (Contracted to Sony VFX)

Quality Assurance Engineer for latest hi-end film and television special effects and compositing system, retailing to the post-production industry at £500,000.
Responsible for software quality and final product quality and usability. Setting up procedures for tracking and checking functionality and source code using :
- Silk-test, Rational Software, Purify, Coverage, and ClearQuest, Perl and C++.
Creative compositing using software such as Inferno, Flame and Discreet Effects.



1998 May - 2001 September
Senior Software Engineer

TCTi plc, Harefield, Middlesex

AIM listed technology company developing 3D scanners using digital cameras and photogrammetry technique. Products ranged from breast scanners to full body scanners for up to £150,000.

Exhibits: Chiefly responsible for all non-medical applications including winning a contract from the London Science Museum to install the worlds first public facing 3D face scanner.
Project managed, designed and implemented this exhibit that allows the public to capture a 3D model of their face and perform different manipulations to their texture and shape - like gaining a few pounds or looking like an orange! A similar exhibit which I also designed and co-produced was installed at the Glasgow Science Centre.

Gaming: Co-designed, implemented and installed public facing 3D capture booths across America that allowed the public to put their 3D faces into PC games such as Quake Arena, Counter-Strike and Unreal Tournament.

- Varied skill sets required for responsibilities including software architecture design (OO) and GUI design and programming for 3D medical and 3D gaming products using C++, Windows NT, Source Safe and MFC.

Trace Computers plc, Farringdon, London

- Cobol and C programming on UNISYS platforms and then design and project management of PC based Desktop Mapping System (GIS).


1997 – to present
Creative Technologist

Collaborative and Solo Digital Installations and exhibits.
As a collaborative and solo artist and technologist, works have been exhibited at prestigious national and international galleries and events, including the London Science Museum, the Victoria and Albert museum and the ICA.

Wide ranging responsibilities including Artist, Design, Project Management, software development (Java, Lingo, C, C++), graphics and visualisations (3D MAX, Poser, PhotoShop), electronics, PR and client liaisons.
Budgets ranging from £500 to £15000. Critical acclaim achieved in press and media including Tomorrows World, the Guardian, the Evening Standard and the Blueprint magazine.
